The Singapore Public Service Division (PSD) has informed 297,000 Careers@Gov account holders to change their passwords after a malware infection of it’s vendor PageUp’s IT Infrastructure.
These account holders are either those who have accessed the portal to apply for jobs with the Singapore PSD. The malware has since been contain and threat eliminated. The Human Resource Software provider, PageUp is working with the relevant parties to determine the extent of the breach.
PageUp’s Chief Executive Karen Cariss said in a statement on it’s website that on 23rd May 2018, they detected unusual activity on their IT Infrastructure. On 28 May 2018 it found some indication that data may have been compromised. An independent 3rd party forensic investigation is currently in progress.
